"Superman" (2025) Review
Final Score: 9.0/10
First let me start off by saying that prior to seeing this film, I was getting a little sick of IMAX. I mean, for the past decade or so, I have been seeing nearly superhero film as well as other films in IMAX (or Dolby Cinema). So I was thinking, I will take a pass on that and just see this in regular 3-D.
The 3-D was good and definitely made the experience better, BUT I definitely REGRET NOT seeing it in IMAX. I feel as if this film could've definitely been better in IMAX and I am going to hate myself for a while for passing on that this time.
But enough of that; this film was enjoyable and I had a really great time. The action, story, visuals and comic relief were all very appealing and made for a great experience. I am really dumbfounded as to how certain film critics that I respect did not like it (here and here), but there were lots of other critics who did actually enjoy it, so there is that.
The best actor in this film was easily Rachel Brosnahan. Every time she was on screen, I was thoroughly entertained. She added so much depth and layer in Lois Lane and I loved the romantic element in this film; Nicholas Hoult did a really good job as well.
As for down sides, I thought the Superman fanboyism amongst the populace was kind of cheesy and there were some plot conveniences.
But hey, I loved Krypto and whole bunch of the side characters and yea, this was a very enjoyable film - 9.0/10.
